Yep, Still Cold

It's Kinda Cold Here

Like, really cold. Like wind chill of -40F cold. After my 2 hour (!!!) commute in this morning due to slow blue line trains, I sat at my desk for trying to warm up. I'm almost there, 3 hours later. :)
Above is a photo of the Chicago River...you can see the steam coming off of it and the ice that's starting to form on top.
Brr...
And I get to do this all again tomorrow! Yay Chicago winters!

Yeah, There's No Snow
But there's another snow advisory for today. Good timing! I hope this one passes over as well.

It's Snowing
It's been snowing for about 6 hours now and we're supposed to get 5 inches. I can't tell what's accumulated thus far, but there's snow on the grass and on the roofs of buildings in the loop. I imagine that the walk to the el tonight is going to be a slippery one.
This isn't the best picture of the snowstorm but it's hard to get a good view from the office. I'll try to get some good pictures of the resulting snow this weekend.
Happy Friday!

Chicago Weather
It was a bit windy and rainy last night.

This pic is out of my bedroom window and doesn't really convey how big this tree really was. It cover half the street and part of the corner as well and when it fell, it took out the bricks and some concrete at the top of the building you can see in the picture. If it helps, size-wise, the balcony that is partially hidden by the tree branches starts about 5 feet up, so the tree was still taller than me laying down! By the time I walked Sadie this morning it was already half gone. Go city workers! I hope you got overtime.
