Cubs Video!

When we were out in Mesa for Cubs Spring Training, my sister, brother-in-law and nephews were interviewed by ESPN.com. The video is now up on their site!

(It's kind of a dorky premise, but it's fun to see them in the video! And poor Jack gets so shy around strangers. It's cute)

Hopefully the hyperlink above will work, otherwise, the video's tough to find, but if you go to ESPN.com, click on the MLB dropdown, click on MLB Video, their video is on the third page called "Jim Caple: Is This Finally the Cubs' Year?" Jack and Matt are at 2:45 and Jandy and Ben are at 2:34.

More Snow

It's snowing AGAIN. I'm so over this.

In happier news, I went to the dentist this morning and along with no cavities, I got a free 10-minutes massage.

I love my dentist. :)

Yes, Double Post

I heart Improv Everywhere. This is their most recent mission and it's FAB. Check it out .

Video Fun!

Caution: if you're a sensitive (prim) soul, you might want to think twice before clicking. I wouldn't want to make you blush.

Scrapbooking

Mom, Jandy, Christy and I went scrapbooking on Saturday and I'm not entirely happy with the results.

I think I need to back all of the photos and add something to the Cirque Du Soleil pages. They just seem...flat or something.

Maybe I'll play around tonight with them--if Sadie allows it! She likes to jump all over my stuff when it's spread over my bed. :)

It's Snowing. Again.

These aren't great pictures but I had to share. We're supposed to get about 5 more inches.

Happy Spring, Chicago!

Bah!

12 of 12 March 2008

12 of 12 time! This week I had the day off so there are some more interesting pictures! Check out Chad's blog for other 12 of 12s and info on how it all works.

7:15am: Wake up #1 ala puppy. She's used to going outside around this time, so I dragged myself out of bed to take her outside.

8:25am: Wake up #2 ala puppy. This time she brought a whole bunch of toys to see if that could spur me out of bed. My alarm went off 5 minutes later, so according to her, it probably worked. :)10:12am: Waiting for the bus. Liz and I are on our way to get our hair cut at a student school up in Evanston.
10:28am: In order to get to Evanston, we took the Metra commuter train. From the Clybourn stop you can see downtown.
10:56am: On the train
1:17pm: Hair cuts complete, Liz and I went up to her boyfriend's office to thank him for setting up the cheap ($5!!) haircuts. It was a pretty good experience, really. The boy (18 years old) that cut my hair was super nice, if not a little scared. And although it took him an hour and half to cut 2 inches off, he did a good job!
1:30pm: After visiting Chris, Liz and I went across the street to Bar Louie for some lunch.
2:20pm: We had a couple of beers as well.
3:50pm: A big group of us are going to see Dropkick Murphys at the Congress tonight. Since I can't get a camera in there, I took a picture of the marquee on the way home. (It's just a block from my apartment!)
7:30pm: After a quick nap, Bob came over and we had a couple of beers before the show. We went outside to meet some friends that were coming over and found Nick on the front porch! He doesn't have a cell phone and our doorbell isn't working, so it was a bit of a surprise to see him there.

7:37pm: A round of shots before the concert, courtesy of Chris.

9:57pm: After the concert, Bob gives Sadie some pets.

I took some camera phone pictures at the concert but still can't figure out how to get them sent to an e-mail address. Bummer.

Cubs vs. Diamondbacks

The cubs won again today! Hurrah! 4-1.

We got to the field early today and were able to watch a bit of batting practice out by the parking lot before going into the stadium. Jack and Ben both got balls from the players, which was neat. After the game, they also got to run the bases--Lucky boys.

And...Soriano is back!!

Cubs vs. Mariners

Today we went to go see the Cubs play the Seattle Mariners at HoHoKam field in Mesa. And they won, 6-4! Yay!

The neatest thing happened is that we realized that we were sitting really close to Ron Santo, an old cubbie and current announcer for WGN radio. Jack and Matt got to get his autograph and Dad mentioned that remembered seeing Santo play when he was little. Pretty cool!

Goldfield Ghost Town

Our first baseball game isn't until tomorrow (Friday) so we had a "free" day today. After getting up super-early today (6:30am...what?), we lazed around a bit before heading over to the lobby of the hotel to see what we can do. After a bit of discussion, we decided to head out to Goldfield Ghost Town.

Goldfield is a cute little town that was rehabbed from an old mining town from the late 1800s. We took a mine tour, rode the train, and panned for gold while just enjoying the beautiful area. It's about 70 degrees here, which is awesome compared to the freezing weather in Chicago!

Vacation Tomorrow!

I'm off to Cub's Spring Training tomorrow! Woohoo!

I have to admit I don't know much about the Cubs right now, but I plan to be well-versed by the time I get back to Chicago.

And a little tan. Yay Phoenix! Yay warm weather! Yay NO SNOW!

I'll be bringing my camera (of course) and my computer so I hope to post things while I'm there ala Spain. If not, there will be lots of pics on Flickr on Monday.
